Course Highlights

Which are the origins and meaning of mantra

Different types of mantra according to Yoga

Correct pronunciation of mantra conforming to Sanskrit phonetics

Meditation with the use of mantra

Use of mantra for psychological, personal and spiritual development

Mantra is a Sanskrit term derived from the combination of man- and -tra, where man- refers to the mind, and the suffix -tra denotes both the notion of a tool or technique and that of mastery or liberation. Thus, the use of mantras as practices for personal, spiritual, or intellectual development is well-documented in numerous texts and scriptures, including the Rig Veda, which was composed over 4,000 years ago.

CONTENTS OF THE COURSE

The Mantra and Meditation course is an intensive 16-hour training that integrates both theoretical and practical components. Designed to offer a comprehensive and in-depth understanding, the course provides participants with the foundational knowledge and experiential tools needed for the effective use of mantra in meditation practice.

The theoretical section explores the definition and classification of mantras according to Yoga, their structural components, and their application in meditation. It also considers scientific perspectives, addressing the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions of mantra use, as well as its role in personal and spiritual development.

The practical part emphasizes correct pronunciation of key mantras, both in vocal and silent forms, alongside the practice of Japa (repetitive chanting). Participants engage in meditative techniques that incorporate posture and breath control, and they learn to cultivate concentration and awareness through mantra-based meditation. The course also introduces active and dynamic meditation practices involving mantras and offers guidance on integrating these techniques into daily life.

CERTIFICATION

All participants will be awarded at the completion of the course with the IYC Certificate of the Mantra and Meditation Course, officially issued by PRAMANA INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE.
