Meditation is one of the central practices of Yoga, traditionally described as a disciplined method for training the mind and turning attention inward. It involves the cultivation of stillness, clarity, and presence through practices such as breath awareness, observation of thought, and sustained concentration. Rooted in the ancient teachings of Yoga, meditation serves as a path toward greater mental calm, emotional steadiness, and inner understanding. This course offers a trustworthy, structured, and accessible introduction for those wishing to begin their journey into meditation with guidance from both classical teachings and experienced instructors.

CONTENTS OF THE COURSE

The Introduction to Meditation course consists of 16 hours of intensive training delivered over two days. It incorporates both theoretical instruction and guided practical sessions to provide participants with a foundational yet comprehensive understanding of meditation.

The theoretical component examines the conceptual basis of meditation in yogic philosophy, including the definitions of dhyāna, dhāraṇā, and samādhi, and their relation to the nature of the mind and human experience. It also discusses how meditation is positioned within the broader system of Yoga and its purpose in everyday life.

The practical component offers instruction in various classical meditative techniques, including breath-focused attention, silent sitting, inner observation, and mantra-supported concentration. Each practice is presented with clear guidance on how to perform it, what effects to expect, and how to adapt it to individual needs. The course also provides support for establishing a personal meditation routine and offers tools to integrate meditation into daily life.

CERTIFICATION

All participants will be awarded at the completion of the course with the IYC Certificate of the Introduction to Meditation Course, officially issued by PRAMANA INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE.
