Applied Yoga for Neck and Back Wellness
2 DAYS Ι THEORICO-PRACTICAL Ι MULTIMODAL Ι ENG/ESP Ι IYC CERTIFICATE

This two-day intensive course offers a structured introduction to the application of yoga for improving the strength, flexibility, and health of the neck and spine. Designed for yoga practitioners, individuals experiencing discomfort in these areas, and professionals seeking reliable guidance, the course presents a balanced combination of theoretical understanding and guided practice. Drawing from classical yogic principles and functional anatomy, participants will learn how to prevent, manage, and alleviate common issues of the neck and back through accessible and effective yogic methods.
Course Highlights
Understand the yogic perspective on spinal health and posture.
Learn how to relieve and prevent neck and back pain through targeted practices.
Explore strengthening and flexibility techniques for the spinal and cervical regions.
Gain tools to support long-term spinal well-being through daily yogic routines.

The spine is considered central to both physical structure and energetic balance in Yoga. Tension, weakness, or stiffness in the neck and back can lead to chronic discomfort and hinder daily functioning. This course introduces participants to time-tested yogic practices that restore mobility, build muscular support, and reduce tension in these areas. With step-by-step guidance, participants will learn to address postural imbalances and promote spinal health in a progressive, safe, and accessible manner, regardless of prior experience.

CONTENTS OF THE COURSE
The IYC “Applied Yoga for Neck and Back Wellness” includes 16 hours of intensive training delivered over two days. Integrating theoretical insights with hands-on practice, the course is designed to provide both knowledge and experience for addressing spinal health through yoga.
The theoretical section explores the yogic view of the spine and posture, as well as an introduction to functional anatomy of the neck and back. Participants will learn about common causes of pain, discomfort, and dysfunction in these regions, and how specific yogic techniques can aid in their correction and prevention.
The practical sessions will focus on carefully designed sequences that strengthen spinal muscles, increase flexibility, and promote proper alignment. Practices will include therapeutic āsanas (postures), breath regulation techniques, and gentle movement flows specifically adapted for neck and back care. Each technique will be explained in detail with its purpose and mode of action, ensuring participants gain confidence in applying them independently or in teaching contexts.
